A Game of Models 2013: Sculpting (IV)

               Fourth edition of this series, here we go!. Now, time to finish the chainmail and start with some little details...

             The belt is done minus the spikes (that will take a lot...). Chainmail ended quite well, you can see that where the "robes" will be sculpted i didn´t bother making the rings, better save the time for other stuff!. One of the more "eye-catching" details is the one on his right leg, and i wasn´t sure of how it will turn out, being so little, but it actually was really easy to do. I mean, yes, i had to be VERY cautious, and did it in a couple of sessions not to have problems with recently put green stuff, but with patience and a pin (yes, a pin)... well, you can see!:

             If you ask me... i would say that they key is using a very, very, VERY thin layer of green stuff and then remove the excess. If it´s thin enought you will not suffer the "crap, i removed all my work!" syndrome that sculpts usually suffers. Also, on the left leg you see details that you can´t see on the picture, mostly because on the artwork the arm with the word is in front of it, and the darkness of the area is nearly total. So i take the liberty of adding detail to make it not "plain" in comparison. Hope you like how it turned out:

Spiky details

                Details are great, but also gives you the "sensation" that you didn´t worked enought on the mini. They are necessary, but you always think "damn, i should sculpt faster...). Well, hope you like what i have done, next update a litte bit more!

+++++++++++++++++ INITIATING TRANSLATION++++++++++++++++

                  Bueno, hasta ahora hemos "construído" la forma básica del soldadito apestado este, pero es hora de añadir algunos detalles extra. Podéis ver cómo se ha acabado la cota de malla, excepto en los lugares donde se supone que irá la tela que lleva por encima de ella (algo que ayuda a orientarse y, para qué negarlo, ahorrar tiempo :P). También ha llegado el momento de añadir algunos de los detalles más complicados, como la decoración de los muslos. En el izquierdo (de la mini, no del dibujo), concretamente, puesto que en el dibujo el brazo con espada lo tapa completamente me he dado el gustazo de añadir detalles propios de la casa para inspirar y para que no parezca "plano". Lo cierto es que me preocupaba que fuese muy complicado de hacer, pero a decir verdad el truco fue bien sencillo: capa de masilla verde MUY fina, y un alfiler para hacer las formas. Siendo tan fina al levantar el sobrante las posibilidades de llevarte por delante lo trabajado son más escasas, y en dos sesiones pude acabar con la decoración sin problemas :).
